this is Beau’s pick this week, The restaurant is called 竹林小餐. Its just across the street from Q Bar on Sanlitun South Road (南三里屯路). Should be very easy to find, and a perfect location for those with ambitions for a bigger night…

Happy new year! For the first Jiaozi Monday of 2012, we’re going to start off on the right foot with, you guessed it, jiaozi. But it’s not just any jiaozi restaurant. It’s the jiaozi restaurant opened by the mother of Han Geng (a Chinese actor/singer). Yeah, apparently that’s supposed to be a big deal (here’s a little blurb about it on Baidu), and their jiaozi is supposed to be pretty good too. We shall be the judge of that tonight.

Too much Turkey over Christmas weekend and in need of a change? Or no turkey at all but you just want to dine with some cool people? Today’s restaurant specializes in “sour soup fish” where the fish boiled in soup is supposed to be extra tender and aromatic with a spicy kick. If spicy kicks are not your thing, their rice tofu is also supposed to be pretty special… (thanks, DianPing!).

Its going to be Jeffs last JZM until he kicks off JZM NY (New York). And when we’re stopping by the big apple we will surely appreciate dropping in for a guest appearance.
