Tonight’s JZM restaurant is such a hidden gem that no one but Nestor knows where it is!

Let’s meet at 7:30 in front of the Hilton Hotel on the Third ring road (near San Yuan Qiao) – there’s an amazing and delicious Hunan place right near there that we’ll walk to.  If you’re arriving late or need more detailed directions, call Nestor on 13910267371 or me on 13811533772.

JZM#57: 22 March 2010 – Yu Xiang Jia Chu

Nea found this great little restaurant one day after she spent four hours driving hard bargains in the Silk Street Market.  It lifted her spirits and tickled her taste buds – so she brought it to my attention.  And since it comes highly recommended from those who live in the area, I figured we should give it a try.

Name: Yu Xiang Jia Chu

Location: in an alley across the road from the Silk Street Market.  Basically across from the East entrance of the market – there are a bunch of stalls and fast-food restaurants.  This place is at the entrance of the alley on the East side of Dong Da Qiao Lu.

Type of cuisine: Hunan/Sichuan/spicy

Closet subway stop: Yong An Li

JZM #30: 10 August 2009 – Xiang Food

What about trying some “Xiang” food from Hunan tonight? This is going to be my last JZM for a while, so I’m looking forward to trying something new.

Connie found this restaurant on the online (perfect – so it’ll be new to everyone). Apparently, the original name was “Xiangwei Youhuo”, but now it is called “Xiangtan Yuzhuang”湘潭鱼庄 and it’s just off Gong Ti Nan Lu (Jixiangli Chaoyangmenwai(Chaowai)朝外吉祥里)。

It’s been a while…so don’t miss tonight’s special Jiao Zi Monday, the first in weeks. Our choice is Hunan food at Steam Food of Luck 逸麟蒸菜, right next to Hooters near Sanlitun (nice and central so everyone can make it).
