I can hear you complaining already:

“South of the river?  Are you out of your mind?”

Well, let’s all try to get over it and explore a new neighborhood.  Our choice for tonight, Shi Tang( 食堂) gets great reviews for tasty food in a low-key place.  Sounds just about perfect for Jiao Zi Monday, so I hope you’re willing to make the trek south to meet us tonight.

JZM #58: 29 March 2010 – 维吾尔风味快餐厅 Xinjiang Near Ritan Park

Xinjiang is more than just chuar, and this restaurant is one of Beijing’s finest establishment for a whole range of Xinjiang cuisine. Many exotic flavours designed to impress!

Ritan Bei Lu is the street that runs north of Ritan Park. Coming from Dongdaqiao Lu, turn West into Ritan Bei Lu and the restaurant is about 200 metres in, on the left (south side of the street). Russian writing on the outside.

After much deliberation, I’ve settled on a Xinjiang restaurant for this week. The address is a little lacking in the details (no number), but I couldn’t resist, as it has six very favorable reviews from just the last month!
